No, I don’t think so.

The following is an email exchange between myself, and a “Domains-For-Sale” dotcom that may or may not remain nameless.  They dared mock me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to retort.

Enjoy.

Hello,

I’d like to purchase this domain from you, however I feel that it is not worth anywhere near what you are asking. I’d like to offer you $100.00, which is double what the domain is currently worth, based on it’s search popularity, traffic, and availability, and also should compare with what you’ve paid into it over the past 10 years. I believe this to be a fair offer. I already own thedomainiwant.net and .biz so I’d like to obtain the .com as well.

Please let me know.–

Best,
Glenn

Normally we do not respond to silly offers Glenn, but yours tops them all.

If you think that thedomainiwant.com has no real value then why did you register the same words in THREE lower extensions? You have owned them too for many years.

Your appraisal method is very unique. What YOU think though, means absolutely nothing… here is the reality:

collectorplates.com SOLD $18,500.00
autocollector.com SOLD $11,530.00
bookcollectors.com SOLD $5,750.00
collectorz.EU SOLD $4,737.00
collectorsclassifieds.com SOLD $2,500.00
collectorscorner.NET SOLD $2,081.00
sellstuff.com SOLD $30,055.00
freestuff.NET SOLD $28,000.00
smartstuff.com SOLD $22,650.00
freestuff.COM.AU SOLD $18,000.00
valuemystuff.CO.UK SOLD $15,900.00
sexstuff.com SOLD $10,120.00
greenstuff.com SOLD $5,260.00
turnkeystuff.com SOLD $3,500.00
divestuff.com SOLD $3,400.00
koolstuff.com SOLD $3,200.00
yourstuff.ORG SOLD $3,000.00
tropicalstuff.com SOLD $3,000.00

The owner will just continue to offer the domain, he’s in no rush. Spending $75 to extend another 10 years is no big deal.

Thanks for your opinion Glenn, and good luck with your net, .biz, and .us!

P.S. We will continue to monitor those domains of yours in case they become developed. The owner loves extra popularity and traffic!

Hello there Lisa!

I’m very pleased that my offer has “topped them all!” I am accustomed to excelling in all of my endeavors, so this does not come as a surprise.

Let me be the first to commend you on your ability to copy and paste sales statistics! Impressive! Strange though, that I did not see any “thedomainiwant” domains in that “sold” list, given how vehemently you’ve defended its value.

I’m also quite content indeed, with the fact that my email “amused” you enough to take the time to create a petty, condescending response. It’s heartwarming to see that, especially during the holidays, people still take the time to be kind hearted and selfless.

Honestly, sincerely glad to have wasted your time.

PS – The domains in question have never meant to be high traffic, so sorry… don’t expect much crossover. I too will be monitoring the sale of your domain, so that I may return the opportunistic sentiment, and sell my domains to the new owner. THANK you for informing me of what the domains could be worth! Who knew it would be so easy to obtain private domain sales values? I’m sure your bosses will be thrilled that you shared those!

Not surprisingly, I have yet to receive a response.  So I decided to share my story here, and further publicize the private sale information made known to me.

Dear Stupid Domain-For-Sale Company,

Bite me.  You’ve been outmatched.

Sincerely,
